Growing Beautiful Roses
Caring for roses with HB 101
Use HB101 in dilutions ranging from 1/1,000 parts (approximately 2/3 teaspoon
to one gallon of water) to 1/3,200 parts (approximately ¼ teaspoon water),
spraying and watering once a week. Continue regular plant feeding, taking
care not to over-fertilize. Emphasize flora feeding in spring and early
summer to repel insects. Reduce applications to once or twice a month during
winter.

Caring for orchids with hb-101
Use hb 101 in dilutions ranging from 1/1,000 parts (approximately 2/3 teaspoon
to one gallon of water) to 1/10,000 parts (six to eight drops per gallon),
spraying and watering once a week. Continue regular plant feeding, but
do not over-fertilize. Take special care to reduce nitrogen feeding of
during summer months as excess foliage may result.
Caring for bonsai with HB-101
Robert Davis, owner of Midori Bonsai of Costa
Mesa, Ca., began collecting bonsai over ten
years ago, and met his wife, Miyuki, while
in Japan studying growing techniques. Ms.
Davis’ family has been growing bonsai in
Japan for generations, as well.
Mr. Davis uses hb101 in very light dilutions on a daily basis on all of
his bonsai. He also employs HB-101 to revitalize trees that are sick or
struggling. Because Mr. Davis imports many rare bonsai from Japan, and
the trees are occasionally damaged in shipment, HB 101 has become an important
tool for both regular and emergency treatment of his trees. A recent shipment
of conifers that had yellowed while in quarantine is now recovering nicely.
Mr. Davis notes that healthy trees sprayed daily with HB101 will flower
for longer periods, adding that in low dilutions it is fine to spray hb-101
directly on to flowers, as well.

1. HB-101 - Directions for Regular Use
hb-101 is highly concentrated and must be diluted with water before applying
to plants. hb 101 is commonly used at ratios of 1/1,000-1/100,000 parts
hb101 to water, depending upon frequency of application (i.e. stronger
dilutions for infrequent use, weaker dilutions for frequent watering.)
(1) For houseplants and shade-loving plants
(orchids, African violets, begonias, etc.)
mix 1/8-1/4 teaspoon HB-101 to one gallon
of water and apply 1 - 2 times per week as
both spray and drench.*
(2) For fruit trees, vegetables and sun-loving plants (i.e. roses) mix
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon HB 101 to one gallon of water. Apply 1 - 2 times per
week as both spray and drench.*
(3) For cut flowers add 1 - 2 drops of HB101 per quart of vase water to
keep water fresh and preserve flowers.
(4) For aquatic plants use 1 - 2 drops hb-101 per gallon of water to promote
growth and keep water fresh. (In such concentrations hb 101 will not harm
fish or other aquatic creatures.)
* For optimum results, continue feeding plants at regular intervals with
organic fertilizers, reducing quantities substantially as hb101 begins
to take effect.
2. Tips for Using HB-101
Measuring and mixing HB-101:
* 1/2 teaspoon to one gallon = 1/1,600
dilution
* 1/2 teaspoon = 2.5cc
* For most applications, 1/1,000 (about
2/3
teaspoon to one gallon) is the strongest
recommended solution.
* Use HB 101 as soon as possible after mixing as potency will diminish
over time.
Applying HB101:
* Condition soil before planting by applying 1/1,000 dilution of hb-101
once or twice. Be sure to drench soil thoroughly.
* Flora feeding is best done early in the
morning. Spray undersides of foliage as well
as tops for optimum results.
* Cut back on fertilization as plant
health
improves.

Is it a fertilizer?
Classification of HB 101
HB101 is neither an agricultural chemical nor a fertilizer. It is an all-natural
organic solution that stimulates plant growth. Hence, hb-101 is referred
to as a plant vitalizer, or plant growth enhancer.
How does it affect leaves?
Development of Leaves with hb 101
Plants need the sunlight, air (carbon
dioxide
and oxygen), water and soil (minerals
and
micro-organisms) to grow. If the delicate
balance of these elements is not maintained,
growth is slowed or stopped.
Sunlight and carbon dioxide are absorbed into the plant's system through
its leaves, where photosynthesis produces glucose and other nutrients necessary
for survival. When hb101 solution is sprayed onto foliage and applied to
the soil, the plant absorbs more phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) from the
soil. These nutrients are combined with ionized calcium and sodium from
HB-101 and absorbed into the leaves' cells, thereby strengthening the cells
and increasing photosynthesis efficiency. This results in greener leaves
and stronger, healthier plants naturally.
How does it help in stem and root development?
Effect of HB 101 on Development of Stem and Roots
The main function of the roots and
stem of
a plant is the absorption and transportation
of water and other nutrients. Healthy
leaves
depend on healthy roots. Water and
nutrients,
especially calcium, are necessary for
the
development of leaves and roots, but
many
minerals, including potassium, cannot
be
absorbed into the plant's system in
their
solid form.
These minerals have to be converted to an ionic state in order to be easily
absorbed through the roots, and this is done by micro-organisms living
in the soil. By applying HB101, which itself contains ionized minerals,
the activity of these micro-organisms is enhanced, insuring that the necessary
balance of nutrients is maintained. The result is stronger root systems,
capable of storing sufficient quantities of the plant's energy sources,
such as glucose. In addition to these essential ionized minerals, hb-101
contains significant quantities of saponin, a metabolite which replenishes
micro-organisms with oxygen.
The stem is the pathway by which nutrients are transported to and from
the leaves and roots, and it is also the backbone of the plant. Solid cell
membranes are required for this function. Healthy cells and sufficient
nourishment result in the smooth distribution of carbohydrates, which are
necessary for strengthening cell membranes. With the introduction of hb
101, nutrient flow from the leaves and roots is maximized, contributing
to the healthy development of the stem.
Does it help in conditioning of the
soil?
Soil Conditioning with hb101
Soil should be soft and contain a good
balance
of water and air, and should allow
good drainage
after rain or irrigation. It should
also
maintain proper moisture even during
sunny
weather and should be neutral to mildly
acidic.
In such conditions, the balance of
micro-organisms
in the soil will be favorable.
However, factors such as acidic rain,
agricultural
chemicals, and repeated cultivation
can harm
the soil and stunt the growth of the
essential
micro-organisms. With HB-101, the propagation
and proper balance of these micro-organisms
can be maintained.
Is it harmful to my pets and other
animals?
Effect of HB 101 on Harmful Creatures
As stated, HB101 is a product that is safe on living creatures. Therefore, it is not an insecticide. However, it does contain a substance called pinene that is known to repel insects.
Plants also have natural defense mechanisms, similar to the immune system
of humans. However, if a plant is not in optimum condition, its immune
system will not be as effective, and hence vulnerable to attack by harmful
insects. By improving the plant's immune system, hb-101 will help remedy
this.
